A transformative celebration of Black art and cultural expression during Frieze Week Los Angeles

A vibrant celebration of Black artistic expression took center stage during Frieze Week 2025 as “black in every color. Art in Every Form” transformed the LINE LA from February 21-23. This powerful exhibition, curated by Kofi Siriboe (Tola), Josiah David Jones (Valence Projects), and Nakeyta Moore (ARTLOUDLA), showcased exceptional works from artists including JOJO ABOT, Láolú Senbanjo, Adrienne Muse, Autumn Breon, and Langston Allston.

The exhibition featured two complementary sections: “The Movement,” highlighting contemporary Black artistic expression across various disciplines, and “The Migration,” creating a symbolic bridge between New Orleans and Los Angeles artists in homage to Tola—The Other LA. Through immersive installations, panel discussions featuring luminaries like Lisane Basquiat and Patrisse Cullors, and dynamic performances, the exhibition explored profound themes of identity, heritage, and belonging.

Proceeds from the event supported Black in Every Color’s global initiatives, Tola’s artist residencies, and local Wildfire Relief efforts, demonstrating the power of art to not only inspire but also create meaningful community impact.
