Mid-Market, San Francisco

Our Story

We opened the LINE San Francisco in September 2022, bringing a tradition of design-forward hotels in distinct neighborhoods to Market Street.

Travelers come here to find 236 locally-inspired guestrooms, four upscale dining spaces, rooftop bar views of the SF skyline, and an art program featuring the work of local creators.

An Intersection of Culture

Our unique hotel in San Francisco is located on a triangular block where Union Square, Tenderloin and South Market districts meet.

The culture surrounding the hotel is endless.

Within a ten-minute walk of the Ferry Building, SFMOMA, and Moscone Center — you can find an elevated drink, delicious bite, and unforgettable view at the LINE SF.

Designing The LINE SF

Joining partner properties in LA, DC, and Austin, THE LINE SF came to exist as a part of a rich tradition. The LINE brand is part Soho House & Co, Inc.

Our design ethos involves focusing on incorporating elements of the neighborhood, past, and future.

We are located in a 12-story Flat Iron-inspired building that includes the adjoined Serif building — a collection of residencies.

The exterior features design by Handel Architects and conceptual design by renowned architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group. The building’s facade stands out with its reinforced concrete cladding inspired by local masonry buildings.

The interior design of our hotel in San Francisco was done in collaboration with Knibb Design, and it features inspiration from the juxtaposition of local Victorian color palettes that have long defined homes throughout the city with the local Tenderloin neighborhood’s busier, more lively vibe.

Incorporating elements of the city, our team of artists and designers took a range of creative leaps. For example, they added abstract graffiti tags to headboards, introduced textured white oak furniture to guestrooms, and exposed concrete throughout the hotel.

Dine & Drink

We approach the art of a cocktail or a dish with the same passion that we have for interior design, architecture, and hospitality. There are four distinct dining spaces throughout the property.

Tenderheart features a multicultural menu inspired by local Northern California cuisine. Executive Chef Joe Hou curates a rotating menu of seasonally-inspired dishes for breakfast, brunch, and dinner.

LA’s Alfred Coffee has its first SF location right here at the LINE. In addition to their World Famous Iced Vanilla Latte, our admired cafe offers a full coffee menu, pastries, and takeaway breakfast treats.

Rise Over Run is our rooftop bar and solarium. Arguably the most romantic location on the property, it offers skyline city views alongside craft cocktails and inventive bites.

Dark Bar (Coming Soon) is the lobby-floor reimagining of your classic hotel bar at our hotel in San Francisco. Come see our mixologists consistently advance and reimagine a menu focused on high-end ingredients and Asian spirits.

Rooms

Across the 236 well-appointed guest rooms at our hotel in San Francisco, a continuity of art and design ties the aesthetic to both The LINE brand and the neighborhood surrounding.
