The LINE Residency is an artist-in-residence program produced by Big Medium in partnership with the LINE Austin, now in its fifth year. Artists selected for the residency program have access to a private studio space within the LINE Austin, community support, and open studio hours.
Chantal Lesley is a conceptual photographer living and working in Austin, Texas. Lesley is a multicultural, first-generation American born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley along the U.S.-Mexico border. As the daughter of immigrants from both Germany and Peru, Lelsey’s experience of feeling stretched between four cultures has led her to confront, through her work, ideas around not only identity, but also contemporary social and political issues.
