Join us for an evening with Dr. Akilah Cadet in celebration of her debut collection of personal essays, White Supremacy Is All Around: Notes from a Black Disabled Woman in a White World, in which she explores the long-term work required to combat structural oppression from her unique vantage point as a Black disabled woman.
Dr. Cadet will be joined by Dr. McKenna “Dr. Mac” Hereford, a psychologist and advocate based in San Antonio, for a conversation around health equity. From navigating racism in healthcare and therapy settings, to advocating for equity in the chronic illness community, Dr. Hereford and Dr. Cadet will discuss their experiences and work in advocating for more inclusive spaces for all patients. The conversation will be followed by a book signing with drinks and mingling.
