We're over the big Texas moon to announce the 2023 LINE Austin Artist Residency program in partnership with @bigmediumaustin, now in its fifth year.

Kicking off the program is Farangiz Yusupova (@fara_yusupova_ ), who will be in residence until February 27th. Born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan and based in Austin, Farangiz has shown in galleries from New York City to South Korea. Deeply informed by her experience both growing up in Central Asia and immigrating to New York, Farangiz's work investigates the intersection of personal experiences and historical context through references to Indo-Persian miniature paintings, Soviet Brutalist architecture, Islamic art, communism, and nomadism.

Rian (raven) Crane (@venus_az_a_boi ) is a post-disciplinary performance artist interested in Black diasporic rebellion as an anti-thesis to borders, gender, and prisons.

Molly Margaret Sydnor (@mollymargaretdesigner) is a multidisciplinary fine artist with an eye for textiles. Her work explores the complexities of gender, race, and sexuality.

Diego Mireles Duran (@fayeg0) is a first-gen interdisciplinary artist who playfully conglomerates 90s Mexican pop and Noreño Music, Mexican candy, traditional artisan practices, and more.

Chantal Lesley (@chantallesley) is a conceptual photographer whose self-portraiture aims to challenge preconceptions of women of color and turn the colonial gaze upon itself.

Adde Russell (@adderussell) focuses on traditional painting techniques and uses color and monochromatic treatments to examine the dueling realities of her subjects.
